Dust Permits, Forms and Training
Page 27 of the Dust Control Permit Package is directly related to the Asbestos notification and must be completed correctly when filing the dust permit. This page is put into the dust permit application just to try to make the contractor aware that a notification may be needed and who to call and questions that may help them to know if they need to file.
COMMON MYTHS/MISPERCEPTIONS
Many contractors incorrectly assume Asbestos NESHAP does not apply to them for many reasons including:
- the project falls into city jurisdiction- county does not apply [MYTH]
- they are only working on one of the houses [MYTH]
- it was built recently [MYTH]
- there was no asbestos so I do not have to file a demo [MYTH]
- Asbestos was banned years ago [MYTH]
- I obtained city permits, county or federal regulation do not apply [MYTH]
